Yungblud Is Bringing A New documentary Featuring His Album

Yungblud is heading to the big screen. The British rock provocateur has announced a feature-length documentary, “YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY?” The documentary will hit cinemas worldwide on 20th and 24th August. Filmed at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, the fiery essence of Yungblud. Additionally, it will showcase his band in the thick of recording Idols, his latest chart-topping album.

Directed by the acclaimed Paul Dugdale, the documentary blends stark black-and-white with lush colour and 16mm film. Hence YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY?” will create a visually immersive experience. The documentary will be more than just a behind-the-scenes chronicle. It shows an artist at a creative crossroads — raw, restless, and searching for meaning.

“I wanted to make a film that truly documents where we are right now, at this moment, around the release of my most ambitious album to date,” Yungblud shared. “Berlin has always radiated complete, unfiltered truth. Every time I’ve visited Hansa Studios, it’s just f*cking iconic.”

Also, the film offers a rare window into the emotional intensity of the post-recording, pre-release limbo. It is a space Dugdale describes as “that special twilight zone between the record being finished and people hearing it for the first time.”

“It’s an extraordinary period to document because we can enter into it without any external noise or pre-conception,” Dugdale explained. “There’s a really pleasing purity about that. We got to live in a moment with Dom, free of any external opinion, and start a relationship from a totally blank canvas.”

With “Idols” having just claimed Yungblud’s third consecutive UK number one album, the timing feels precise. The documentary doesn’t just celebrate that victory — it captures the vulnerability, doubt, and fire that led up to it.

. ARE YOU READY, BOY? will travel to 30 countries, with 150 UK cinemas already confirmed. Tickets go on sale July 17.
