Charli XCX Fires Up The Stage During Her Glastonbury Set
Charli XCX delivered an unforgettable moment during her Glastonbury set on Saturday night. She has quite literally set the “Brat” flag on fire.
Headlining the Other Stage, the avant-garde pop icon kicked off her performance with her usual boldness. She pinned the Shygirl remix of “365” before moving to “360.” Yet, before launching into “Von Dutch,” things turned unexpectedly fiery. The neon green “Brat” curtain, which served as the visual backdrop, spontaneously ignited. Thus, it added an unexpected twist to her performance. Charli reveled in the chaos as the flames flickered, her set bathed in a sinister red glow.
Thus, true to her experimental nature, Charli carried on with the show. She delivered her usual mix of high-energy pop anthems, including the fan favorites “Party 4 U” and “Vroom Vroom.” She even coaxed the hospitality section, where Harry Styles and Eddie Redmayne were spotted.
So, her performance was a spectacle of its own, capped off by a surprise moment when fellow Glastonbury performer Gracie Abrams joined Charli. The two performed the now-iconic TikTok dance to “Apple,” sending the crowd into a frenzy. The singer was dressed in her signature all-black ensemble, now accented with pink details and red boots.

Now, Charli’s ensemble was just as bold as her performance.”I’m known to have the heart of a stone, but this is very fucking emotional right now,” she said. “I feel very grateful. Thank you so much, you’re cool as fuck. But not as cool as me, bitch.”
As the set drew to a close, Charli played “Track 10,” dancing under a fake rainstorm. Despite fans eagerly awaiting surprises, she refrained from bringing out any special guests. However, Lorde had performed a secret set the day before.
Charli’s outro message on the display revealed that the fire was part of the performance. “We had to do it, and it looked cool,” the message read. “I think you all have proven that ‘Brat’ is forever.”
With her festival circuit still in full swing, Charli has continued to captivate audiences. At Lido, Charli declared that “Brat summer” would last forever. “It wasn’t just a summer thing… it’s a forever thing. Please don’t let it be over.”
And with her fiancĂ©, George Daniel of 1975, also headlining the Pyramid Stage, it’s clear that this “Brat” era is here to stay. Charli XCX’s Glastonbury performance proved that in her world, nothing is off-limits, and everything—especially a burning flag—can be turned into a statement.
