Morgan Wallen Scores Ninth Top 10 on Country Airplay Chart, Sets Record
Country music star Morgan Wallen has earned his ninth top 10 hit on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with his latest single “One Thing at a Time,” which rose to No. 10 on the chart dated April 22. The song gained 9% in the week ending on April 13, garnering 17.3 million impressions, according to Luminate. “One Thing at a Time” is the title track of Wallen’s latest album, which has held the No. 1 spot on the Top Country Albums chart for five consecutive weeks and also reached the top spot on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
In addition, Wallen has become the first artist to have three solely-billed songs simultaneously in the top 15 of the Country Airplay chart since its inception in January 1990. “Thought You Should Know,” which spent three weeks at No. 1 from February to March, is at No. 5 (with 22.8 million impressions, down 4%), and “Last Night” has climbed from No. 17 to No. 13 (16.1 million impressions, up 28%, earning the Greatest Gainer honor). Only two other artists have charted three songs in the Country Airplay top 15 at once, but with other credited acts: Tim McGraw in 2016 (thanks to collaborations with Big & Rich and Florida Georgia Line) and Kenny Chesney in 2004 (with Jimmy Buffett and Uncle Kracker).
Wallen‘s hit song “Last Night” has also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second nonconsecutive week, and it has now reached No. 20 on Pop Airplay, No. 21 on Adult Pop Airplay, and No. 27 on Adult Contemporary charts (all dated April 22).
Meanwhile, Bailey Zimmerman‘s “Rock and a Hard Place” has become the first song to hold the No. 1 spot on the Country Airplay chart for four weeks in 2023 (with 34.2 million impressions, down 1%). It is Zimmerman’s second consecutive Country Airplay No. 1 after “Fall in Love” held the top spot for one week in December. Additionally, Zimmerman’s new single, “Religiously,” has reached No. 56 on the chart with 980,000 impressions, up 3%
