Caroline Polachek Elevates Melbourne Concert with Unique Grimes and Dido Covers
Caroline Polachek, renowned for her experimental sounds, took her Melbourne concert to new heights by offering fans a distinctive twist on her collaborative track ‘Fly To You’ with Grimes and Dido.
Currently on tour in Australia, Polachek delighted audiences during a two-night residency at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, following an earlier opening slot for The 1975. The live performance featured tracks from her latest album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, including the collaborative gem ‘Fly To You’ with Grimes and Dido.
In a surprising move on December 11, Polachek decided to reimagine the collaborative track. Rather than delivering the original verses, she seamlessly incorporated Grimes’ ‘Delete Forever’ and Dido’s “Thank You” into the “Fly To You” instrumental, creating a captivating blend that left the audience enthralled.
This innovative performance showcased Polachek’s ability to weave together diverse musical elements, highlighting her penchant for experimentation and pushing artistic boundaries.
Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, captures the essence of her musical journey. Once a member of the US synth-pop sensation Chairlift, Polachek’s latest work embraces the world’s influences, contradictions, and chaos. While her previous album, Pang, focused on containing her emotions, “Desire…” signifies a liberating flow of creative expression.
Polachek recently unveiled her latest single, “Dang,” during a debut on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, further showcasing her evolving musical repertoire.
Beyond her musical endeavors, Polachek has been an outspoken advocate for social causes. During the Israel-Hamas crisis, she actively supported Palestine by releasing merchandise, with proceeds directed towards aiding Palestinian refugees. Polachek joined forces with artists like Dua Lipa, R.E.M’s Michael Stipe, and Killer Mike, adding her signature to an open letter calling for a ceasefire.
Caroline Polachek continues to captivate audiences not only with her innovative musical performances but also with her dedication to social and humanitarian causes.
