Crystal Starr Has Just Dropped Her Tearjerking New Single “Too Late” with a DIY Video
Crystal Starr is a double-award-winning artist and is often referred to as “The Girl with the Golden Voice.” She has come out with her latest single, “Too Late.” Justifiably recognized for her vocals and vibrant pop style, Crystal Starr continues to win the hearts of audiences with emotionally connecting music.
“Too Late” describes the hurt brought by missed chances of love. An expression of frustration is its lyricism: one waits for someone to take the step, but in the end, they don’t. “This could have been us, but you play too much and never took me seriously,” which really hits the mark for expressing painful, unreciprocated feelings. It’s produced by the Grammy-nominated duo Bizkit and Butta; it’s one of those perfectly tailored to illustrate how Crystal combines emotional depth with the catchiest of pop-driven melodies.
This is added to by the video, which is quite low-budget but serves the song well. In fact, in a very grim, old, and rained-over room, Crystal basically feels her soul and shows it in such an amazing emotional expression as she performs around a minimalist set-up in front of that sadness. The power of the rain shots makes it very powerful, together with the switching angles of the camera. Crystal edited it herself in collaboration with some photographers, editors, and makeup artists, brought it alive in a project over a few hours, and clenched it into what it is today. The simplicity is perfect for the song’s poignant message.
“Too Late” will be a follow-up for her previous single “Good Times,” which recently charted very well in the UK, France, and Germany, respectively. It will further cement her place in the world of pop by being a pop singer who can really make music that speaks to the hearts of people worldwide. Crystal began her musical journey very early in life, with the rich mix of musical styles provided by her Puerto Rican mother and African American father. At sixteen, she got her first professional gig in the background, singing for Jessica Simpson. From there, she went on to perform with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Ariana Grande, Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, John Legend, and Lady Gaga. She is currently touring with the ’80s girl group Klymaxx and the most recognized face of the rock band KISS, Paul Stanley, in his group, Soul Station. On the stage, Crystal was also seen on Broadway starring as Doris in Baby It’s You, and her performances have headlined the Electric Forest Festival.
Besides her musical career, Crystal is an ardent philanthropist. She is the founder of Little Voices, a non-profit organization credited with having touched on an amazing 1 million foster and inner-city youth through concerts and mentoring programs. A fearless dedication to give back is something Cristal believes each of us should find within ourselves, and music being a life-changing element is something she firmly believes in.
As dynamic on stage in person, Crystal Starr has a powerful vocal range that has her gaining fans all over the world. Her performance on the recent Old School Cruise 2024 with Klymaxx went viral on TikTok, showcasing her talent and bringing even more attention to her work.
