Aerial Salad announce new ‘Roi de l’herb’ EP for June release

Manchester punk trio Aerial Salad have been steadily gaining popularity in the UK music scene by mixing post-punk, indie, and rock ‘n’ roll. The three-piece band consisting of Jamie Munro (vocals/guitar), Mike Wimbleton (bass/vocals), and Matty (drums) have been gaining a reputation through energetic live shows.

Their latest album, R.O.I., on Venn Records, documents the development of the band and their own “Madchester Punk” self-definition. The new EP Roi de l’herb includes tracks like “My Girl”, “Inject Your Blood”, “King Of The Grass”, “Wires”, and “L.A.”

L.A.’ is a rare Japanese romantic song by the band, and the singer Jamie Munro has humorously described it as being a “classic bit of love song lyrics about wearing your partner’s skin and crawling inside their hearts

Aerial Salad‘s music is characterised by its unavoidably British flavor, which attributes to their grittiness and charm. Their influences span from punk legends Happy Mondays and XTC to more contemporary bands such as Yard Act, Shame, and High Vis. This varied list of influences has enabled the band to create a sound that is truly their own and makes them stand out within contemporary punk.

In the coming months, Aerial Salad will perform at the Sebright Arms in East London on October 1st, 2024, as part of Worn Out Tuesdays’ monthly new music night. The free-entry night, sponsored by Clash Magazine and Venn Records, is an excellent opportunity for music fans to catch one of the most exciting young punk bands in the UK.
