
Lorde Is Going on a New Tour and Going Back Home
After months of anticipation, alt-pop sensation Lorde has confirmed that she will be bringing her Ultrasound World Tour to New Zealand. The Grammy-winning artist will embark on a highly anticipated tour of New Zealand and Australia early next year.
The New Zealand leg will kick off in Auckland on February 11. There, Lorde will perform at Spark Arena. She will then head to Christchurch’s Wolfbrook Arena on February 13. Thus, she will mark her first show in the city since her 2023 appearance at Electric Avenue. The singer will continue her Australasian journey, with stops in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. The journey will take place between February 16 and February 25.
Lorde’s Ultrasound World Tour will be her first tour of New Zealand and Australia since her “Solar Power Tour” in 2023. Thys, her fans have eagerly awaited confirmation of dates in her home country. Speculation about a New Zealand stop intensified after Lorde initially left Aotearoa off the list of tour dates. The singer, however, subtly hinted at the possibility of a homecoming show. She made the hint during her appearance at the Aotearoa Music Awards in May. “Could you imagine if I didn’t? That would be bad, that would be bad,” she quipped, teasing the news. “Watch this space.”

So, the announcement has also put to rest rumors that Lorde might inaugurate Christchurch’s new stadium. With One New Zealand Stadium—Te Kaha—set to open in April 2026. The timing of Lorde’s tour won’t coincide with the venue’s debut. Despite this, excitement surrounding her Christchurch show remains high. Caroline Harvie-Teare, CEO of Venues Ōtautahi, noted that the community would fully support a Lorde performance.
Lorde’s Virgin album has already proven to be a commercial and critical triumph. It debuted at No. 1 in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. Meanwhile, securing the No. 2 spot on the U.S. charts. Tickets for the upcoming New Zealand and Australian shows will be available to the general public starting July 18 at 2 p.m. local time.
