Miley Cyrus Reveals Why She’s Not Going on New Tours
Miley Cyrus makes it very clear that she is not planning to hit the road. Yet, from what it seems like, she never will.
In a recent appearance on “Good Morning America,” the pop star candidly addressed why she’s stepped away from the touring circuit. It’s a decision that’s less about physical limitations and more about personal boundaries. “I have the opportunity to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” Cyrus explained.
Now, it’s been nearly a decade since the “Bangerz” era, the last time Miley Cyrus embarked on a full-scale global tour. Although fans have surely missed seeing her on stage, she’s now putting that conversation to rest.
Referencing Prince, an artist renowned for his constant touring, Cyrus said the lifestyle simply doesn’t align with her current values. In particular, she mentored sobriety. “It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road,” she noted. “Which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things.”
Miley Cyrus Wants to Put Mental Wellness First
Mental wellness, too, plays a major role in her choice to stay off the road. “I do think it’s really hard to keep mental wellness,” she added.
The decision isn’t sudden. Cyrus has previously opened up about the vocal strain she experienced during earlier chapters of her career. Among them is Reinke’s edema. It’s a condition she attributes in part to her party-heavy lifestyle in her early 20s. “Being 21 and staying up and drinking and smoking and partying after every show does not help,” she told Zane Lowe.
Now 32, the artist seems more committed to longevity and inner balance. And for someone who’s been in the spotlight since childhood, Miley Cyrus has earned that autonomy. “I worked really hard as a child,” Cyrus told W Magazine last year. “I didn’t have so much of that social experience or time for friends. Disney they were doing very well off the amount of work that I was putting in as a child. I don’t have any bad feelings about that. It’s just the truth.”
For fans hoping to see Cyrus live again, it may not be in the cards. Yet, for the singer, reclaiming control of her narrative and well-being might just be her most powerful move.
