Yungblud Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne On His Social Media

Yungblud joins the stars who are paying tribute to the Prince of Darkness. In the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, the music world has found itself united in grief.

Hence, the 27-year-old rocker took to social media to mourn the death of his longtime hero, the legendary leader of Black Sabbath. Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76. A statement shared by the Osbourne family read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

So, Yungblud had the distinction of being the youngest performer at “Back to the Beginning.” Ha had long counted Osbourne as a personal and creative inspiration. Following the show, he released a powerful cover of Osbourne’s classic “Changes.” Yungblud used the single to raise money for charity in a move that felt both reverent and rebellious. Thus, it is very much reminiscent of Osbourne’s spirit.

“I didn’t think you would leave so soon,” Yungblud wrote. “The last time we met, you were so full of life, and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know the things that we don’t.”
In a tribute laced with admiration and personal emotion, he added: “I will never forget you—you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own.”

Yungblud Reflects on His Last Meeting With Ozzy

He recalled one particular memory that encapsulated Osbourne’s generosity. “You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me, and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us, the music was enough. You took us on your adventure—an adventure that started it all.”
Closing out the tribute with aching sincerity, he wrote, “I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the rock and metal spectrum. Metallica shared a statement honoring their mentor and friend.

“Ozzy and Sharon believed in us and transformed our lives and careers. He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant.”

From Birmingham basements to global stages, Ozzy’s legacy remains untouchable. And for artists like Yungblud, his influence is more than just musical. It’s foundational.
