Adele Concludes Las Vegas Residency, Uncertain About Future Performances

In a poignant farewell at the Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace, Adele concluded her “Weekends With Adele” residency, expressing uncertainty about her return to the stage. The Grammy-winning artist shared her mixed emotions during her final Las Vegas show on Saturday night, leaving the future of her performing career open-ended.

“It’s been wonderful and I will miss it terribly, and I will miss you terribly,” Adele told the audience, visibly moved. Her statement of not knowing when or if she will perform again underscored the evening’s emotional weight. “I don’t know when I next want to perform again,” she admitted, revealing her apprehension about the future. “I’m not doing anything else. I’m actually shitting myself about what I am going to do. I don’t have any fucking plans.”

Adele‘s residency, which began in November 2022, was part of a broader plan to take a step back from her music career. In July, she announced her intention to pause her musical endeavors, focusing on a significant break and exploring other creative avenues. “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she stated, emphasizing her desire for a hiatus from the music scene.

Despite her declarations about taking a break, Adele reassured her fans during the closing show that she would return to what she knows best. “The only thing I’m good at is singing,” she confessed. “I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage, but I love you.”

The decision to opt for a residency over a tour was influenced by her personal life, particularly her commitment to maintaining normalcy for her son, Angelo. “I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal,” Adele explained, appreciating the balance it brought to her family life, enabling her to spend weekends with her son.

The singer also took a moment to acknowledge her fiancé, Rich Paul, for his unwavering support and to reflect on a memorable highlight of her residency—a visit from Celine Dion, whose presence marked a significant moment for Adele. “I am emotional but also, just so you know, I got closure when Celine Dion came to my show a few weeks ago,” she shared. “I cried for a whole week … It was just such a full-circle moment for me because that’s the only reason I ever wanted to be in here.”

As the curtains closed on her Las Vegas chapter, the future for Adele remains as open and unwritten as the powerful ballads that brought her to fame.
