Algiers Release New Track From SHOOK Called “73%”

American-English Post-Punk band, Algiers, share the fourth single of their highly-anticipated album SHOOK. The single is accompanied by a visualizer, featuring nostalgic and old photos with cryptic messages that imply that “73% of this song was inspired by true revolutionary events.”

The band’s frontman, Franklin James, explained in a press release that “73% is an impressionistic love letter to the energy and movement of New York City that I missed so much when I was exiled in ATL during quarantine.”

Before announcing the album, Algiers had released “Bite Back” with Billy Woods and Backxwash. They later introduced SHOOK with the second single “Irreversible Damage,” featuring Zack de la Rocha, which was followed by “I Can’t Stand It,” ft. Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring and Boy Harsher’s Jae Matthews.

SHOOK comes out on February 24, 2023 via Matador and is the follow-up to Algiers’ There Is No Year, released in 2020.
