Backstreet Boys Brings New Hits to Las Vegas Residency

Backstreet Boys Bring New Hits to Las Vegas Residency

The Backstreet Boys officially kicked off their “Into the Millennium” Las Vegas residency at the Sphere on July 11. Yet, those fans who were expecting a predictable, play-it-straight run-through of their iconic 1999 “Millennium” album were beyond surprised.

Sure, all 12 tracks from “Millennium” made it into the 25-song setlist, including “Hey.” The newly released single from their just-dropped “Millennium 2.0” reissue. However, the show was anything but a front-to-back tracklist replica. The night launched with “Larger Than Life,” a fan-favorite opener from the original album. Thus, after that, it veered off-course in the best way possible.

Early on, the Boys dropped “As Long as You Love Me,” a hit from their 1996 self-titled debut. Hence, they sent a clear message that this show was going to be a blend of greatest hits, deep cuts, and curveballs. Even their signature ballad “I Want It That Way” didn’t close the night. Instead, Backstreet Boys gave way to four additional non-“Millennium” tracks that followed.

Backstreet Boys and Giving Fresh Start to Old Hits

In true Sphere fashion, the visual production was next-level. The venue’s cutting-edge 360-degree screens and immersive audio system turned the performance into a spectacle. Thus, it amplified the choreography and harmonies that fans have cherished for decades.

What makes the Into the “Millennium” residency hit different is its balance. By being a part tribute to the album that defined their legacy, part celebration of a discography that spans more than 30 years. With tracks pulled from four other albums beyond “Millennium,” the setlist caters to longtime loyalists and casual Vegas drop-ins alike.

The Backstreet Boys aren’t just riding a wave of late-’90s nostalgia—they’re reimagining it for a new era. They are truly proving that boy band magic still hits hard in 2025.

The residency continues at the Sphere through August 24. Check out the full Night 1 setlist below—and prepare for a show that’s anything but formulaic.
