Kings Of Leon Tease Upcoming Release “The Mustang” During Electrifying Mexico Show
The anticipation for new music from Kings Of Leon reached a fever pitch during their recent live performance in Mexico on January 25. Marking their first show of the year at Velaria De La Feria in León, the band dropped a tantalizing hint about an impending release, urging fans to brace themselves for something called “The Mustang.”
Frontman Caleb Followill took the opportunity to share the exciting news with the crowd at the end of their set, stating, “[Let me] tell you we have some new music coming. It’s coming real soon, so get ready for ‘The Mustang’. It’s coming for you…” He made it clear that the announcement was not in reference to the forthcoming song just before launching into their iconic 2008 track ‘Sex On Fire.’
As of now, details about whether “The Mustang” refers to a new song, an upcoming album, or another musical endeavor remain undisclosed. The band has kept the release date for this new material under wraps, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
In a nostalgic moment last month, Kings Of Leon paid tribute to the White Horse venue in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, where they played their first-ever UK gig. The pub, which played a pivotal role in their early career, closed its doors for the last time on December 30. The band shared fond memories of the venue, expressing gratitude for the special place it holds in their hearts.
Looking ahead, Kings Of Leon are set to headline the F1 British Grand Prix opening concert at Silverstone on July 4, 2024. Joining the racing circuit’s four-day festival lineup, the rock icons will be accompanied by Stormzy, Pete Tong, and Rudimental, each performing on different days.
The band’s most recent full-length album, ‘When You See Yourself,’ made its debut in 2021, receiving praise for seamlessly blending their vintage and contemporary influences. As fans eagerly await the arrival of “The Mustang,” Kings Of Leon continue to leave an indelible mark on the music scene.
