Lana Del Rey Gets 62% of The Votes in The Billboard Pole
Lana Del Rey‘s latest track, “Bluebird,” has been voted the fan-favorite new release in Billboard’s weekly music poll.
On April 18, Del Rey’s haunting ballad claimed a commanding 62% of the vote, according to Billboard. Thus, it outpaces high-profile releases from Morgan Wallen and Post Malone, Addison Rae, Nigerian superstar Davido, and rising alt-pop artist Isabel LaRosa.
“Bluebird” marks the second preview from Lana Del Rey’s upcoming country-inspired studio album. Based on the gentle sound of the guitar and tender piano chords, the song is a wistful meditation on love. Also, it reflects on distance and emotional release. “Little bird, bluebird / Fly away for bo “h of us / For you have wings, and I’ve no means to fly,” Lana Del Rey murmurs in her trademark breathy tone.
Lana Del Rey and “Bluebird” Origin Story
The track’s origin story, as told by Lana Del Rey in a reflective Instagram video, adds another layer to it. Afterward, she told how she had been thinking of seeing someone for a long time, and it served as a basis for the track.
What followed was a quiet but poignant moment of clarity — and inspiration. “All of a sudden, a bird smacked into the double-pane glass doors of my bedroom,” she recalled. “I opened the little door and saw this small, maybe a sparrow or a swallow, lying there. I just got so emotional. Sometimes, I think nature has its own way of speaking to us — not in a dramatic or sacrificial way, but as a sign meant just for you.”
“Bluebird” arrives after “Henry, Come On,” the album’s first song. Notably, it also resonated with fans, placing second in last week’s poll with 12% of the vote.
Lana and New Country Sound
Thus, fans will get to experience Del Rey’s evolving country aesthetic live when she headlines Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on April 25. The event has teased her appearance as “a very special country set,” coming hot on the heels of her surprise cameo at Coachella the weekend prior.
Meanwhile, this week’s runner-up in the poll was Wallen and Malone’s reflective duet “I Ain’t Coming Back. It also earned 12% of the vote. The track is featured on Wallen’s sprawling 37-track forthcoming album, “I’m the Problem.”

As Lana Del Rey flutters into new sonic territory, her fans are willing to follow her wherever she may go.
