One of them is Canadian band Nickelback, whom she praised on CBC Music’s “Jam or Not Jam” segment in 2020.

In an Instagram post, Nickelback thanked Lizzo for her kind words, and even extended an open invitation for her to join them on stage in Houston. The “Jam or Not Jam” segment features Lizzo listening to different songs and declaring them either a “jam” or “not jam.” When Nickelback’s hit song “How You Remind Me” played, Lizzo wasted no time in singing along to Chad Kroeger’s vocals and praising the song’s climax.

She praised its inescapable melody and the beat drop-out, counting off to the beat and headbanging along to the song, even though she didn’t know all the lyrics. Lizzo thinks the only reason the band gets so much criticism is because of Kroeger’s curly blond perm.

In addition to Nickelback, Lizzo also enjoyed Black Eyed Peas‘ “My Humps” and gave props to Canadian pop queen Celine Dion‘s “My Heart Will Go On,” especially for its whimsical pan flute opening. She also got hyped to hear BTS for the first time on their “ocean jam” collab with Halsey, “Boy With Love.” The segment showcased Lizzo’s love for different genres of music and her ability to appreciate different artists.
