The Killers Release “Rebel Diamonds,” a Greatest Hits Album with New Song “Spirit”
The Killers celebrate “20 songs for 20 years” with the release of their greatest hits album, Rebel Diamonds, featuring classics like “Mr. Brightside” and “When You Were Young.” The album also includes a brand new song, “Spirit,” which seamlessly blends with the band’s signature synth-based, punchy vibe.
Brandon Flowers, the lead vocalist, discussed “Rebel Diamonds” and shared insights about “Spirit” in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. Flowers expressed excitement about potential anniversary shows and hinted at the goal of reuniting all four original band members for a new record.
“I got 20 more [years] in me,” Flowers stated, emphasizing plans for anniversary shows and the aspiration to create new music with the full lineup. Although drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. has remained with the band, Mark Stoermer stopped touring, and Dave Keuning announced a hiatus from touring in 2017.
The Killers have scheduled several European dates for the upcoming summer, hinting at their active plans. “Rebel Diamonds” is a testament to the band’s enduring legacy, featuring a mix of timeless hits and a promising new track.
