Alvvays Drop Music Video For “Many Mirrors” Created By Stardew Valley’s Eric Barone
Canadian indie-pop band Alvvays share video-game inspired visuals for “Many Mirrors.” The track is from their third studio album, Blue Rev, which includes songs like “Velveteen,” “Tom Verlaine,” “After The Earthquake,” “Pressed,” among others.
The video was created by Eric Barone, who is the mastermind behind the simulation role-playing game Stardew Valley. The American developer and designer stated, “It’s not every day I get an email from a cool band like Alvvays. When I learned they were fans of Stardew Valley, it felt like a real honor.”
“The whole album is fantastic, but the song “Many Mirrors” had a pure, adventurous energy to it that really resonated with me. I took that feeling, and used it to create a visual world in my mind’s eye…and that’s what ultimately turned into this video. I had a lot of fun making it, and I’m really happy to be able to contribute, in a small way, to the band’s story,” explains Barone.
Blue Rev was released on October 7, 2022 via Polyvinyl. Alvvays had introduced the album with the single “Pharmacist.” They later shared the tracks “Belinda Says,” “Very Online Guy,” and “After the Earthquake.”
