Duran Duran, Blondie, and Interpol to Headline Cruel World Festival 2024
Duran Duran, Blondie, and Interpol have been unveiled as the headlining acts for the Cruel World Festival 2024. The festival, known for its lineup of ’80s and post-punk legends, announced its 2024 roster on December 4, featuring an impressive array of artists including Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ministry. The event is set to take place on May 11, 2024, at Brookside in The Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California.
Registration for early access to passes is currently open, with tickets becoming available on December 8 at 12 PM PT. Attendees can choose from various ticket tiers, including general admission and limited Clubhouse passes, offering perks such as upfront stage viewing, faster access to festival merch, and exclusive clubhouse entry.
Last year’s edition, headlined by Siouxie Sioux and Iggy Pop, faced weather disruptions that affected Sioux’s set. Despite the challenges, a new show was announced the following day, featuring full sets by Pop and Sioux, marking Sioux’s first appearance in the United States in 15 years.
Duran Duran, who released a Halloween-themed album titled ‘Danse Macabre’ in October, will bring a mix of new originals, reworked tracks, and covers to the festival stage. Blondie, having played at Glastonbury and Coachella, faced live show challenges due to bassist Leigh Foxx’s absence and Chris Stein’s health issues. Stein is set to release a memoir, ‘Under A Rock,’ in November.
