Joe Jones Releases His Third Song From Upcoming Album
Joe Jonas is going offline. With the release of his new single “Heart by Heart,” the Grammy-nominated artist is stepping away from digital noise. The track arrives ahead of his forthcoming sophomore album, “Music for People Who Believe in Love.” The album is yet to come, but it’s already in the spotlight and part of an upcoming BBC documentary.
“Heart by Heart” marks Jonas’s first solo release of 2025 and continues his evolution. The new song is a rich, genre-blending composition that marries ’90s country warmth with the soaring dynamics of arena rock. It’s at once intimate and anthemic. The track reflects and explores emotional memory and human connection with lyrical precision. “Well, if he doesn’t ever light your spark / Remember, I know your heart by heart,” Jonas sings in the pre-chorus, striking the tone of the composition.
“Music for People Who Believe in Love” follows 2024’s “Work It Out” and “What This Could Be.” “Heart by Heart” further sets Jonas’ artistry. It’s a clear departure from his work with DNCE and the Jonas Brothers. The album is more raw, grounded, and vulnerable.
Joe Jonas and a New Musical Adventure
So, the single is accompanied by a visually understated yet conceptually powerful music video set in New York. The video shows Jonas embracing analog connection in the digital age. Coming as a part of Heineken’s new “Social Off Socials,” launched on April 24. It challenges the omnipresence of screens and social media by encouraging people to reconnect offline. Jonas appears in Heineken’s accompanying ad, humorously reacting to ghost-town social feeds.
Joe Jonas hosted a phone-free listening event at Bleeker Street Bar to launch both the campaign and the single. He performed “Heart by Heart” live for an audience experiencing the music at the moment. The stripped-down setting echoed the track’s emotional directness, and footage captured that night will appear in the song’s official video. Between two intimate performances of the new track, Jonas treated the crowd to a passionate version of “What This Could Be,” highlighting the cohesive emotional arc of the new album.
“The idea was to debut my new song offline and in-person because it felt like the perfect time to return to what music is really about: connecting with people,” Joe Jonas told Billboard. “The crowd was so real, so present, and completely locked into the music – that is something you can’t experience by watching on social media.”
Jonas Brothers and 20 Years in Music
In the upcoming BBC documentary, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of “Heart by Heart,” from studio sessions to candid reflections with Jonas on life, art, and love in the age of digital distraction. It also explores how the song fits within his musical renaissance, nearly 15 years after Fastlife introduced him as a solo artist.
Joe Jonas is signaling a more mature, emotionally transparent era with Music for People Who Believe in Love, due May 23 via Republic Records.
And while his solo spotlight shines, he hasn’t turned the page on the band that started it all. The Jonas Brothers are set to release their seventh album, “Greetings from Your Hometown,” on August 8. It is a celebratory follow-up to their recent 20th anniversary event, JonasCon.
But for now, “Heart by Heart” is a reminder of what happens when an artist dares to disconnect — and finally says something that sticks.
