Dua Lipa Plots Glasto Doc: Bringing the Festival to Fans Worldwide

Dua Lipa is reportedly set to capture her Glastonbury 2024 experience on film. The pop star, headlining the Pyramid Stage alongside Coldplay and SZA, plans to use behind-the-scenes footage for a documentary-style movie.

This cinematic project follows the release of Lipa’s genre-bending third album, Radical Optimism (out May 3rd), which draws inspiration from psychedelia, trip-hop, and Britpop.

According to the Mail Online, Lipa aims to share the unique Glastonbury experience with fans globally, many of whom may never attend the legendary festival. “The plan is to use some of the footage to accompany her new single release,” a source revealed. “We don’t think anyone has actually used footage from Glastonbury with their own single release before.”

The source further hinted at “loads of extra footage” captured at the festival, potentially leading to a full-fledged “Dua Lipa Glastonbury movie” down the line.

This wouldn’t be Lipa’s first Glastonbury brush with destiny. In 2020, she was slated to headline the Other Stage in support of Future Nostalgia, but the festival’s cancellation due to the pandemic dashed those plans.

Landing the coveted Pyramid Stage slot this year, Lipa expressed her excitement: “FRIDAY NIGHT PYRAMID STAGE HEADLINE!!!! I have dreamt of this moment all my life.”

Lipa has already unleashed two singles from Radical Optimism: the pulsating “Houdini” and the electrifying “Training Season.” The album boasts collaborations with an impressive roster, including Caroline Ailin (Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry), Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr. (Harry Styles, King Princess, FKA Twigs), and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

Beyond the Glastonbury project, Lipa recently announced a one-off concert at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall this autumn. A summer European tour also awaits.
