The Beatles’ “Now And Then”: The Final Release From the Legendary Band

The Beatles, one of the most iconic and beloved bands in music history, have gifted fans with “Now And Then,” which is being heralded as “the last Beatles song.” Despite the band’s disbandment decades ago, their music continues to captivate generations of fans. This unprecedented release brings the excitement of a new Beatles song to a whole new era.

The journey to “Now And Then” was a lengthy one. The idea to complete this track, originally a John Lennon demo tape, initially arose in 1994. However, the technology of the time couldn’t achieve the desired results. Fast forward to 2023, and technology has finally caught up with the band’s vision, culminating in the release of “Now And Then.”

AI technology played a pivotal role in making this project a reality. Paul McCartney revealed that the process involved using AI to separate John Lennon’s voice from a cassette recording, giving them the raw vocal track to work with. McCartney described the AI-driven technique, saying, “They tell the machine, ‘That’s the voice. This is a guitar. Lose the guitar.’ So when we came to make what will be the last Beatles’ record, it was a demo that John had [and] we were able to take John’s voice and get it pure through this AI. Then we can mix the record, as you would normally do. So it gives you some sort of leeway. We just finished it up and it’ll be released this year.”

The Beatles continue to be pioneers in music, pushing boundaries even in the present day. “Now And Then” provides a final and fitting piece to their legendary discography, allowing both longtime fans and new generations to cherish the magic of the Fab Four.
